How to change Font Sizes in Common Internet Browsers.
In many browsers, zooming the page and text size can be performed by,
holding down the CTRL key while moving the mouse scroll wheel.
Many browsers also support the following;
Keyboard shortcuts;
- To make Text Bigger,
Press and hold the CTRL key and press +, the plus key.
- To make Text Normal Size,
Press and hold the CTRL key and press 0, the zero key.
- To make Text Smaller,
Press and hold the CTRL key and press -, the minus key.
There are menu options too, details are below.
Accessible features: Browser method.
Positive:
- Works with any page.
- Works from keyboard or with mouse.
- Easy to remember, common browser shortcuts.
Negative:
- May zoom just text or may zoom text and graphics, depending on browser and settings.
- On some pages may make text run over into unintended parts of the page at high zoom levels.
Overall;
We do recommend this method for all users with compatible browsers.
Other methods: Third party toolbars.
Some tool bar browser add-ons are available to change font size.
In tests with a couple of tool bars not all page content was resized.
This may be due to page construction and fixed font stylings.
Overall;
We do not currently recommend adding a third party browser toolbar just for resizing text.
