Preview:
You can preview a couple of days in the Select a Day to Preview panel above.
* Run your mouse along a week in the Calendar table to preview each day in turn.
* Run your mouse vertically to preview the same day of the week (e.g. all Mondays).

Popup Windows:
A day, week, or month may be viewed in a separate pop-up window.
♦ Click on the links in a calendar table above to see the pop-up.
* If popups don't appear check your browser’s pop-up blocking settings.
Single days may be shown in a multi-layer overlay instead.

To use an overlay option (drop-in boxes);
♦ Click on the Pop-ups button in the top right of the display.
* Chose Overlay1 for day outputs to appear on the right.
* Chose Overlay2 for outputs to appear on the left or both.
Search results also appear in overlays with the Overlay2 option.

♦ Each overlay box may be dragged by its title bar.
* They can be closed by clicking on the corner X button.
* The escape key (esc) on your keyboard closes all open overlay boxes.

Preview panel controls feature:
The preview panel also has (right half);
♦ Day/week VCR-like controls to select date,
♦ Simple search function (15 matches/90 days) plus event type filter.
♦ A ‘Just-In’ button for the latest records added.
♦ A preview window help link for help in a pop-up.
♦ A date selected link to display the day in a pop-up or overlay.
♦ More/less link to display more info inside the preview section.
Preview panel length can be increased with the Long / Short link buttons on the panel’s title bar.

Accessibility controls:

Submit an Event request:
Send your request by email (see Submit Events link below the banner). Please provide the description in plain text. Please limit it to 50 words for the Print edition.
The Online description field is limited to ~170 characters or less. On-line Titles, date, time and location fields are just a few words each. Our on-line policy FAQ explains why.
Allow 10 to 21 days for review and edits. Normal for-profit events (Bars, Taverns, Galleries, Theatre productions) are printed in ‘Kitchissippi Going Out’, For that column or other advertising contact Kitchissippi Times.
Submit an Image of Your Event:
To give community events more ‘visibility’ Newswest offers space at the top of this webpage. Offer is limited to Kitchissippi events.
Each event image can be seen for 10 seconds each cycle. There may be upto 6 events promoted in any month.

You may submit a selection of digital images for our volunteer graphic editors. Or you may chose to format the banner yourself. Event picture banners are a 5:1 aspect ratio, 720 by 148 pixels.
We select for Colour, visual appeal, community interest. All banners selected will be overlaid with the Newswest Logo. The event name, credits are also added. Other graphic re-processing may be used.
Banners may appear on weeks near the event date or by season. Overlaid Banners used will become copyright Newswest. This offer is not for normal advertising, PR or commercial material.
Send your photos by email (see Submit Events link below the banner).

You can use this page when not on the Internet.
You may keep this calendar open in your browser, after going offline.
Many browsers will let you save a working copy of the calendar.
To save a copy from your browser’s File menu. Go to menu File:. Chose Save As (or Save Page As). Next, select Webpage Complete in the Save as type option. (Safari users: chose Web archives type). Internet Explorer 8’s Web archive, single file type is also a better choice.
To use offline just load your saved copy back into your browser. There may be some visual differences from the online version. Some features linking other web resources will not work in a saved copy.
Remember to go on-line each week and save a new copy. That way you won't miss out on any newly added events.
